And the adventure begins

Today we had our first meeting with the fertility specialist. Although she looks as if she belongs in a sorority house and not behind a big desk in a doctor's office, she seems intelligent and her MIT diploma hanging proudly on the wall provided me additional reassurance. I noticed a fertility textbook suspiciously covered by a few professional journals on her desk. The fact that she had a textbook on hand made me a little nervous but I guess I am glad she knows where her resources are when she needs them! This woman did not mess around. After spending about an hour collecting a very thorough medical history on both Craig and myself, she got me right in for a physical examination, an ultrasound and cycle day 3 labs. I have to say that she had by far the best beside manner of any adult physicians (remember I work with a lot of excellent pediatricians!) I've ever encountered. The office staff was also super professional and everything was said with a smile. Kind of like an office of Stepford Wives but after my most recent experiences with doctor's offices I will take it!
